yakima-049With Daniele on the Yakima

Floating down the Yakima canyon section with Daniele.  Cold first thing but blisteringly hot during the day particularly sitting in under the bare sun in rubber waders.  Several small rainbow and cutthroat trout but nothing of any great size although we did see some of the other people fishing catch some reasonable sized fish.

We used the canoe and floatation outriggers/stabilizers to make sure we weren’t flipped over by the current (or by our general ineptitude). Great river and fantastic scenery.

Trying for the elusive steelhead but instead catching this little thing.  Taken on a self-tied variant of a Purple Peril directly under the bridge at Fall City.
