Kendall Peak with Ben December 22, 2011

No Gravatar

Not to be outdone by his brother, Ben and I trekked 5.35 miles up to find a geocache pinned to the side of a tree.  The snow was fairly compacted so we just used the Snow Trax.

Pretty good for a first attempt – he was even looking behind to check his back-cast!  The last 10mins were great with him shooting the line out really well.

Geocaching with the grandparents included our second visit one particular fiendishly difficult geocache up alongside the Sammamish River close to Redmond – but this time we were successful.

Up and out early to a misty Mount Si.  Despite not getting a decent view (too many low clouds) it was a great 8mile hike up the mountain with a 3,150ft elevation gain.  Jack enjoyed a cheesecake at the top (having pretended to eat it in the car before we…

8miles and 3,300 feet elevation.  Took the morning off work to do a quick up and down on Mount Si.  The clouds parted just long enough for me to snap a half-decent view across to the nearby peaks. \

Took the boys down to Pine Lake to have some fun and find the geocache hidden at the west side of the lake in an old tree stump. The boys paddled approximately 1.3miles there and back with no assistance from Dad.

Beaver Lake picnic and geocaching July 24, 2009

Quit work early and went down to Beaver Lake.  We paddled up to the northern most lake of the 3 and found the geocache stashed on the western shore.  Lovely evening made particularly enjoyable by the fact that most people were over on Pine Lake for the free concert in the park.

A great hike up in Tiger Mountain State Forest May 3, 2009

Fantastic hike and geocaching trip up to one of the local paraglider launch points. Set off early before any of them were flying from near their landing site – got to the top, had lunch and then were down in time to see many of them landing.

We walked up to Rattlesnake Ledge and then did the Rattlesnake Lake trail.  Fantastic warm spring day with snow patches remaining in the forest.  Quick pinic overlooking the lake. We covered about 8 miles in total.
